In the Socialist Republic of Yugoslavia, nearly half a century, the Croats (or hrvatii as they say) and their cousins, the Slavs from the south, have lived together with Slovenes, Serbs and Bosnians, even though there were some ethnic prejudices against ich other. After the civil war much of the former Serbian population was expelled. Currently, the Serbs along with the Muslims, the Hungarians and the Italians form the minority group along with the Slovaks and the Slovenes.
