History of Italy

Rome was founded in 753 BC by Emperor Romulus between the Greek and Etruscan borders. In 326 Emperor Constantine proclaimed Constantinople, a city which was capital of the Roman Empire. Over 69 years takes place the division of the Roman Empire in the Western Roman Empire and the East. The first didn't last much because the German tribes invaded Rome and entered Italy.

Italy has experienced a spectacular development in the eighteenth century by the emergence of tourism invented by wealthy aristocrats as traveling to see the great Roman treasures. A widening of the boundaries to the north was achieved due to the signing of the peace treaty after The World War. Portion located south of Tyrol were anexed along with western Slovenia, Istria and several islands of Dalmatia.

During the Second World War Italy was ravaged. Rebuilding the country after the war went fast in the northern territory, but in the South for a long time things remained all the same.
