History of Germany

Germany, in constitutional terms, is a federal republican representative democracy. In 1871, under the rule of Chancellor Otto von Bismarck, Germany was formed.
The German language appeared before the formation of The Federal Republic of Germany thousands of years ago.

In 1914, Germany entered the First World War with Austria-Hungary but in 1918 the war ended and the emperor was forced to abdicate. In 1919 during the Treaty of Versailles Germany was held responsible for the war. In 1933 Hitler receives the function of chancellor because of the economic problems of Germany and the global crisis of 1929. In 1935 he takes full control and creates an alliance with Italy and Japan called The Berlin-Rome-Tokyo Axis.

Because of Hitler's policy the Second World War was formed which began on 1 September 1939. In the first part of the war Germany was successful, but in 1941 the Nazis put into application the Holocaust. Between 1942-1943 the success pased on the side of the USSR, Great Britain and the United States of America. In 1945 Hitler accepts guilt and comits suicide. After the war both Germany and its capital Berlin were divided into four sectors controlled by France, USSR, United Kingdom and the United States.

In 1949 two German states were formed: the western side was called The Federal Republic of Germany and the east was called the German Democratic Republic. In 1990, after the fall of communism in Europe, the two German states were reunified. " The Two plus four Treaty" has defined the reunification and the German Democratic Republic was gone.
